How to pick the right product
I have been doing this job for a long time and the same mistakes come up again and again. People buy the wrong thing, use it in the wrong place, or skip the one step that makes everything else work. Here is what I tell people before they spend any money:
- Identify the pest correctly first. Mice and rats need different trap sizes. Ants and cockroaches need completely different products. Getting this wrong wastes your money and your time.
- Buy professional-grade where you can. The supermarket versions are often weaker formulations. The products I recommend on each page are the ones I have actually used on jobs.
- Use it properly. Even the right product fails if it is placed in the wrong spot, or if the entry points are not dealt with. I explain all of this on each page.
- Know when to stop. DIY works well for light infestations caught early. If you have a serious problem, throwing money at products is not the answer. I tell you when to call a professional on every page.
